Time to check out that African food you have been eying for a while now, the New York African Restaurant Week is coming to town starting October 2nd through October 25th. Over 25 African restaurants across Brooklyn, Manhattan and Staten Island will be offering three course prix fixe lunch and dinner options ranging from $19.99 to $35.99. The African Restaurant Week is in its fourth year now with participation from popular restaurants like Madiba in Fort Greene, Brooklyn and Lenox Saphire in Harlem. Yes, it is going to be time for some spicy Suya, yam fries, Jolof Rice and more African dishes. As part of the New York African Restaurant Week, there will be cultural events like the “Jazz Night in Harlem” at Farafina Café and Lounge on Tuesday, October 11th and the New York Taste of Africa: Art Expo at Brooklyn Commons in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, on Saturday, October 15th. This annual celebration of African food was started by, A Taste of Africa USA and Panla which creates networking events in NYC that feature food, fashion and live entertainment programs from all over Africa.
